Individual Therapy In Boulder, CO

Individual therapy allows you and me to develop a consistent and trusting relationship that is the foundation for lasting change.

Most often individual therapy sessions are weekly or every other week to provide you with consistency and the support needed to heal deep, underlying core issues that influence behavior, thoughts and feelings in the present.

You will come to recognize that healing is a journey of the soul, stretching and expanding who you are on the inside and your outward life will come to reflect that.

The Individual Therapy Process

When I'm working with someone new, I like for us to commit to weekly sessions, ideally at least a commitment of four weeks in the beginning.

We will decide upon a mutually agreed upon day and time to meet for a 50-minute session.

I'm very value-oriented. So it's really important to me that you're getting your needs met during these sessions.

This will give us the opportunity to build trust, safety and get to know one another. And it also gives us an opportunity to begin working on your goals together.

At the end of four sessions, I will check in with you to learn about how you feel like the work is going.

Mostly, it's a check-in to see how you're doing, and how the work is feeling to you.

If at any point during our work together, if I feel like someone else could support you better than I can, I would also make that recommendation then.

Most importantly I want to ensure that you are getting the value and the solutions that you're looking for during our time together.

In the initial session we will meet and we'll discuss goals that you have for your work.

We'll get to know one another. And we will learn about what resources you have outside of therapy to support you along this journey.

What happens during each therapy session

Typically, there are three parts to an individual therapy session, the warm-up, action and closure phases.

The warm-up is where you and I check in and discuss what's happening for you right now and what you want to get out of your time today.

Then should you choose we would move into action, exploring the issues that are coming up today or what you want resolution within your life.

In this phase, I offer techniques to explore relational conflict, tension within yourself, or opportunities to develop new parts of yourself.

The goal of this action phase is to reduce fear and increase your access to new and adequate solutions.

After we do that, we will move towards the closure phase and discuss what progress has been made and how you feel after the work.

Take the first step by scheduling a free 15-minute phone consultation.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Do I truly want any of this, or is this what I was conditioned to want? Which of my beliefs are of my own creation and which were programmed into me?
